Detailing

From the reinforcement schedule to a DXF detail

Paste the rows from your Excel sheet and get the details drawn: double-line stirrups, 135° hooks, bars at true scale and dimensions. Open it in AutoCAD and paste it into your drawing. Today it draws beam sections; columns and shear walls are on the way.

Four reinforced-concrete beam sections drawn by the app: inverted L, inverted T, rectangular and I-shaped, with stirrups, bars and dimensions.

V1, V3, V5 and V7 exactly as the app draws them, from four schedule rows. Dimensions in metres; callouts are in Spanish for now (Estribo Ø6 c/15 cm (tramo) = Ø6 stirrup every 15 cm at midspan).

How it works

  1. Copy the schedule

Select the rows of your beam schedule in Excel and paste them into the app. With or without headers.

  2. Check the preview

You see every section drawn, plus a table of what was read from each row, so you can check before downloading anything.

  3. Download the DXF

One file with every section, on simple layers, ready to insert into your structural drawing.

Typical I-shaped beam labelled with each schedule input: b, h, top and bottom flanges, flange thicknesses, left and right overhangs, cover r, bars As, As' and side bars, stirrup legs and spacing.

Typical beam

Each dimension carries the name of its column in the schedule (the drawing uses the Spanish names). The I-shape uses every input; the other shapes only the ones that apply.

  • b and h: web width and total depth.
  • Ala inferior and Ala superior (bottom and top flange): total width of each flange.
  • Talón vertical superior and inferior: thickness of each flange.
  • Talón izquierdo and derecho: how far the flange projects on each side of the web.
  • r: concrete cover.
  • As, As' and intermedia: bottom, top and side (web) bars.
  • Ramas (legs) and stirrup: diameter and spacing at midspan and at supports.

What it draws

  • Double-line stirrups with 135° hooks proportional to the bar diameter.
  • Bars at true scale: bottom, top and side bars; with an odd number of bars it adds the middle leg.
  • Dimensions and bar callouts in the font and text height you choose.
  • Detail scale worked out from the plot scale of your drawing.
  • Two layers, geometry and text, so you can plot them with any lineweight.
  • Coming soon: columns and shear walls.

Supported shapes

Rectangular, L, inverted L, T, inverted T and I-shaped. In the Forma (shape) column they are written like this:

  • rectangular
  • L
  • L invertida
  • T
  • T invertida
  • doble T

Flanges and overhangs that do not apply to the shape are left at 0.

Columns in this order, just as in your Excel sheet. Paste the rows with or without headers. Diameters in mm, spacings in cm; r is the cover. Decimals with a point or a comma. The step-by-step guide is in the PDF guide (Spanish).
